I can hardly believe that my sweet baby is 7 months old! Time is definitely going by too quickly with this one. She's a bundle of joy, and definitely my baby.
Here are a few things about Ivey this month:
1. This girl loves to eat, then loves to spit it back up. Bless her sweet heart. I've taken her to the doctor, and she takes Zantac twice a day. I'm afraid I don't see much improvement. We've cut out rice cereal for the most part too. Hopefully she'll outgrow it soon. She takes 5 bottles a day -- the first three are 5 ounces, and then a 2 ounce with dinner, then a 7 ounce for bed. She eats a fruit in the morning, and a veggie and fruit for dinner.
2. She loves to be held....loves it. She's very much a mama's girl at the moment -- fusses if I walk by her without picking her up.
3. She's on the move -- in the last week or two she's gotten really great at scooting around and getting to where she wants to be. Moving around seems to make her a little less frustrated.
4. She LOVES her sisters. They make her very happy and they can get some great giggles out of her. She's started talking and giggling a lot more recently. She also is starting to enjoy peek-a-boo.
A video of her giggles
5. She's a great sleeper, but she's not too keen on rocking. At night, she'd much rather just be laid in her bed after her bottle. She usually goes right to sleep with her pacifier and lovey. Naps are trickier because we are on the go more. Sometimes she'll get tired enough and lay on someone to sleep. She's a great snuggler if she'll let you snuggle.
6. I took her to the doctor last week for her spit up and she weighed about 16.9 lbs. and is about 25 inches long.
7. She went to big-girl Sunday school class last week for the first time and her teachers said she did really great.
I adore this baby of mine. I am trying so hard to soak up every second of her sweetness. Happy 7 Months Ivey-girl!!
Our last family picture in front of our house on India Road.
Lots of memories, firsts, and love wrapped up in this house. We were sad to tell it good-bye, but are looking forward to the new adventures that life brings our way.
Tonight is our last night in our house on India Road. It sold rather unexpectedly, and it was very unplanned. It's been a whirlwind the past four weeks, but the end of our time here has finally arrived. We have loved this house -- our family grew times 3 here, lots of important decisions and accomplishments, lots of firsts -- first steps, first birthdays, first holidays, first days of school. This house will always, always be special to us. I'll carry it in my heart as my family's first home. We have a contract on a brand new house that we really love, so prayers, prayers that everything goes smoothly in the next few weeks. We are excited to make new memories, and I'm so thankful that I get to do that with my people.
Our Gibby got himself into some trouble a couple of weeks ago. Josh was out of town for the night. The girls and I had rushed in from school, and ran inside to get things together for Lila's soccer game. When we were headed to get in the car to go, I noticed Gibson wasn't by the gate like usual. I started calling for him, and he wouldn't come. I started to walk around the yard and found him in the back of the yard, laying down, and he would not get up. Truly, he was just not that responsive at all. I couldn't get him to lift his head or wag his tail. He wouldn't get up at all ... wouldn't even try. I called one of Josh's friends to help me get him in the car (and he watched Clare and Ivey for me), and a friend of mine to get Lila on to soccer. I ran him to the vet and got there right before they closed. She ran some labs, and we determined that he was really dehydrated and had high kidney and pancreatic levels. He was a pretty sick puppy. We saw him Friday and thought he was a little better, but Saturday, I felt like was worse (and the vet did too). He had been vomiting a lot. She finally did a scan on his stomach and found a golf ball lodged in his intestines. Emergency surgery to get it out. He's doing really well now -- we're trying to watch his diet and he's spent a lot of time at the vet in doggie daycare while we are at work so they can watch him. He's not digging the diet part -- he's snitched chocolate chip waffles, 4 or 5 hamburger patties, and an entire play of chocolate chip cookie cake. We are so thankful and happy that our Gib is on the mend!! Definitely no more golf balls for him!
We started our Halloween Festivities at the Durham's for their Fall Festival. The girls had fun playing games, carving pumpkins, and going on a hay ride.
Lila and Clare were 50s girls in their poodle skirts, and Ivey was a poodle. I ordered that hat off Etsy, and when I got it, it was way too small. I had to stretch and pull, and I finally got it big enough to go over her head. It was still small though!
Josh and I took Lila and Clare to the Space & Rocket Center when we were in Huntsville for fall break. We really enjoyed getting to go on an outing. It may have been a little over the girls' heads .. lots of reading facts and lots of scientific words .. Lila probably got it more than Clare did. At one point, we were looking at a moon rock that was on display. I was telling Clare what it was, and asked her if she thought that was cool. She reply -- It doesn't look at that special to me. It looks just like an ordinary, gray rock. She was hard to impress that day!!
The girls posing with a Javelin ... something Papa worked on for quite a few years before he retired.
