It's beginning...

to look a lot like Christmas!!

Inside my house at least ... it'd be nice for the rain to stop so I could get my fall wreath down and hang my Christmas ones! Upside to rain is Lila gets PJ day at school ... first chance to wear our Santa pjs! :)

Shout-Out

So one of my good friends, Katie, made this adorable little pillowcase dress for Lila recently. She was experimenting with them, and we were the receipient! This picture doesn't show it great (Lila's been real good at dodging the camera lately), but it's super cute. Katie's also gotten into making other things, like burpcloths, bibs, blankets, etc. She's recently opened at Etsy site, so I thought I'd share (keep in mind that she JUST started it). :) Visit if you get a chance...cute stuff!!

Giving Thanks

for our many blessings this Thanksgiving.
For Joshua and my Lilabug, my parents and sister, Josh's parents, my extended family, and my married family, my dear and close friends and my kiddos at school.
Life can be tiring and stressful, busy and worrisome, but I am richly blessed and I don't always take the time to appreciate that and give thanks.
From my house to yours, I hope that you have had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
We're also extremely thankful to make this announcement:
The newest addition to the Cook family is set to arrive around July 4th.
We're feeling very blessed this holiday season!

The Sweetest Girl

Lila turned 22 months old this past Tuesday. I just can not fathom having a 2 year old in 2 months!! TIME FLIES! I took these pictures during bathtime the other night. Ask anyone -- particularly my husband -- and they'll tell you that of all the mommy things to do, bath is my most despised one. I chalk it up to being utterly worn out at the end of the day, and not having the energy it takes to complete the task. (Josh chalks it up to something entirely different, but that's neither here nor there.)
Anyway, I'm really enjoying this little stage of Lila's life, and the past couple of nights bathtime has been kind of fun for me. I've been able to break from my ever-so-anal routine in the last couple of months (mainly because I FINALLY realized that she'll adapt and me fine). The last couple of nights we've bathed, then snuggled on the couch to read and both fallen asleep. I've loved it.What's going on with Lila these days: She talks so much now, and I love the conversations that we have. She learns more and more everyday. She knows so many members of our family and can talk about them; she knows so many songs we can sing; she can even say her whole name (sometimes). She's learning shapes and colors. She still loves books and she likes puzzles too. She still likes Mickey, but we're on an Elmo kick at the moment. She's been sitting through church services for awhile now and does really well -- I just make sure to have books, colors, and snacks. She really likes Sissy's and talks about all her little friends that go there with her all the time. We've been have a little separation issue in the morning, but she warms up quick.
We may be partial, but she truly is so smart .. she amazes us.
We're so looking forward to the holidays this year!!
Check out Lila's first Barbie ... which she loves, by the way. Target -- Bath Time Barbie -- $4.75 -- couldn't pass it up!

I know...

I've totally slacked on my blogging, and I owe my mama some pictures of Lilabug. It's not much -- just a few I snapped today, but I'll try and do better. We've literally done nothing but go to school and then come home. Lots of relaxing!

Josh did come home with this little booster seat for Lila. She's been fighting her high chair for a bit, and we've been talking about one of these booster seats. She likes it and is eating a little bit better.
