Happy New Year's Eve!

We've had a low-key kind of New Year's Eve ... we had a great dinner out, and the girls settled down nicely with a movie tonight.
I want to remember these sweet sister moments ... thankfully, they're pretty frequent. Clare's feeling kind of down tonight, but we are hoping and praying we start the new year healthy and bright.
This year has been a challenging, but ultimately rewarding year for our family. We are definitely looking forward to 2013 and all that it has in store for us! Blessings to all!!

Clare is 18 Months Old!!

My little lady turned 18 months old yesterday! I can not believe how fast she's grown. She is such a sweet thing and brings so much laughter and joy to our family.
A few things about Miss Clare Anne:
1. She without a doubt loves her big sister. She mimics Lila, follows Lila, hugs Lila, calls for Lila. Clare loves Lila. Period. End of story. Lila is pretty great with her -- very patient and motherly. Now don't get me wrong...we definitely have some sisterly moments. Sharing is an issue lately, etc., but they are pretty awesome sisters.
2. Clare has a temper .. mainly when she's tired, but a temper nonetheless. She is my fiesty one. She'll throw a hit and yell no and cross her arms and turn away. She's not afraid. She doesn't like the sad spoon or time-out though, so maybe she'll be a quick study that the temper doesn't get her anywhere. We'll see. :-)
3. She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse -- that's definitely her favorite right now. She can even name all the characters.
4. She's feisty, but she's a priss. She loves to wear jewelry and crowns. She loves to be told that she looks pretty. Right now, she's in love with these boots, and everytime you tell her to show her pretty  boots, she turns her foot out a bit.
 5. She talks and jabbers a lot. She can say a lot of words. Some of the words she says...nuh-uh, Mammy for Grammy, Mama, Daddy, Lila, Papa, Mimi, Pop, Memmy for Minnie. She's says some form (that I underestand) of Casey, and most of the other characters of the clubhouse, Aubrey, and Nana for Hannah. She says dog, poon (spoon), pees (please), anks (thanks), baby, love you, bye-bye, wing (swing) and ilk (milk). If there is something that she wants, but can't tell you, she'll just take you by the hand and lead you. She'll let you know what it is by pointing. :) I promise you that she knows what she wants!
6. She got sick (like legitimately) for the first time this month. Poor thing has battled fever and a cough and a runny nose all month!
7. She likes to read and loves to play outside. She loves a baby doll, and one of her favorite things is to put one in a stroller and walk all over the house pushing it.
 8. She can make a lot of the animal noises and can identify most of their pictures.
9. She's still a good eater and a good sleeper.
10. She loves Rudy -- she has followed him around all week and wants to love on him a lot. She's quite enamored.
We love you, sweet girl!! Happy 18 months!!

Christmas in Madison

We traveled to Madison after our great Christmas morning. The weather was yucky, but we got here safe and sound thankfully!! We came into another great Christmas, and the girls (and us) were spoiled. So glad to be here for a good, semi-long visit.

Merry Christmas!!

Santa Claus was very good to our girls this morning! We had a wonderful morning playing with all of the fun stuff that was left for the girls.
Lila was super tickled to find out that Santa drank all his milk!
Peeking in their stockings..
This child l.o.v.e.s. m&m's.
Playing with the puzzles and toys.
Testing the Barbie jeep outdoors. Lila bout plowed the Christmas tree down going in reverse!
We were truly thankful to spend our holiday with family. This year was great -- the spirit that the girls carried throughout the season was contagious, and we had just a great time!
Merry Christmas to all!!

Christmas Eve

We spent Christmas Eve getting ready for Santa. We made sure to make him some cookies...Lila was a big help!
Lila wrote her letter for Santa.
We loaded up on some hot chocolate and went to see some Christmas lights.
Tried desperately for some Christmas Eve pictures,
And opened a few of the presents under the tree.
The girls got a "fake" kitty and puppy. Daddy loves these low-maintenance pets. ;-)
We read a few of our new books.
Lila was ready for bed -- had her milk, cookies and letter ready for Santa to find!
Merry Christmas Eve!!

Christmas with Pop and Mimi

We celebrated Christmas last night with Mimi and Pop. Somehow I didn't get the pictures that I thought I did, so these don't show nearly the right amount of fun. We were blessed that Granny joined us too.
Lila enjoyed her first hot cocoa.
Clare is just a stinker.
Both girls love their Pop (and Mimi and Granny :)
Presents were the highlight of the evening and they couldn't wait!!
It was a great start to the Christmas festivities!!
