Another First

So, Lila did this today!! Her first day of preschool at Sonshine. She was so excited this morning and looked like such a big girl when I was dropping her off. I held it together till I got back to the car, but I admit ... I shed a few tears. My sweetheart is getting to be a big girl!

Yesterday, Josh took her to meet her teacher, and she was given some homework. She worked so diligently on it and was proud to turn it in this morning!

Love these sweet friends...they aren't in the same class, but do get to see each other on the playground.

So proud of this sweet girl. She was proud to report that she stayed on green all day, and she brought a craft home with her. VERY thankful that she had such a great day! Looking forward to all of the growing she'll do this year ... I know it'll be great for her.

 

Where'd August Go?!

These ladies and myself have desperately been trying to get back into the groove of school. It's been a pretty smooth transition...the hardest thing is that we're all just so tired at night!

Since school has started, we've been  busy with that, but we've also stayed busy doing some other fun stuff! We spent one Saturday at the lake with our friends, the Peden's. We had such a good time swimming, boating, and eating. ;-)

Lila was able to continue tennis through August with her cousin, Raleigh. I feel like they've gotten pretty close this summer! They play very well together.

Ashley, Raleigh, and Rivers came for dinner one night, and let me tell you, little Clare Anne LOVES her some Rivers.

Joshie and I got a date night ... to a wedding, but whatever. You take what you can get!

Thanks to Aunt Casey for making that happen!! The girls loved having her here for a visit!

And last but not least, Lila started gymnastics ... finally. She is in love and has been asking when she can go back every day. So thankful that we're able to let her participate in such fun things.

Preschool starts this week!! Say a prayer that my big girl is brave. She's been a little nervous about making new friends, etc. I know she'll do great!!

1st Day of School

We had our first day of school today!

Today was Lila's last first day of school at Sissy's. Make me wanna cry a river. My girl is getting big...hard to believe that this is what she looked like on her very first day of Sissy's 4 years ago!!

Soaking Up the Last Days of Summer

Soo...we head back to our respective schools tomorrow. I think the girls might be slightly more excited than I am. I'm gonna miss the little stinkers -- we've stayed busy and soaked up as much of this summer that we could. I will definitely miss our snuggling and cartoons in the morning, our walks and lunches out. I will just miss them ... plain and simple ... but Clare is excited to see her friends, and Lila can't wait to help Sissy take care of the little baby this year and go to preschool. I'm glad they're excited --- it's as it should be. We've tried to soak up the last bit of summer that we could these past few days...

Had dentist appointments -- I bragged to Josh that Lila was such a big girl, and she said .... "Mommy did good too...she was a big girl like me." Melt my heart.

Played outside...Lila rode her bicycle around the block this morning for the first time. She did great!

Enjoyed a treat at the Pop Factory.

Here's to starting a new school year ... may it be good for all!!!

Fun Day at the Lake

Today we had a family day at the lake. We rode the boat, played on a beach, and had a picnic. It was such a fun day hanging out just the four of us. A little last hurrah before we head back to the real world next week!! A big thanks to Mimi and Pop for letting us borrow the boat to play.

We headed back to Mimi and Pop's to finish some swimming and got a bonus to hang out with Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Sharon.
