Meeting Sweet Rivers

We took the girls to meet their newest cousin tonight. Sweet, little Rivers is 3 weeks old now, and both girls were so excited to meet him. I was really surprised at Clare's reaction. She tends to be a jealous type most of the time, but she didn't mind at all that I was holding and snuggling him. She actually really wanted to hold him, but she lacked a certain gentleness. :-)
Lila was in baby heaven ... she loved being able to hold him.
Big brother wanted in on the action too ... such adorable brothers

Busy Weekend

Our last weekend of April ended with lots of activities. On Friday evening, Lee County held Relay for Life in the downtown area. We didn't stay a very long time, but we had fun seeing friends and hanging out with the ladies (and a few gentlemen) that I work with.
Saturday morning, I ran in the Finish on the 50 5K. I've been signed up for this thing for forever, but I didn't train like I had a race to run. I pleasantly surprised myself and ran better than I thought I would. I only walked one huge hill, then took another 15 second break or so for a breath right before I finished. I finished the race in 37.48 ... I was pretty happy. In the picture below, you can see me crossing the line. I'm in the purple shirt.
I loved my cheering section! Thankful that Josh, my mom and the girls were there to watch!
Saturday afternoon, we headed to Auburn's Cityfest. We went out towards the end of it, and mainly to just see a band that Josh wanted to see. Lila did get her face painted, and we browsed the booths, but mainly we just hung out on the grass and watched the girls do some dancing.

Sweet Moments

Ahh, I love the sweet moments that happen between my girls.
Not all of them are sweet, calm, agreeable, loving, and full of smiles, but it sure is nice to see a one like this.

Time Flies

These are my girls about 20 months ago.
These are my girls now ... this morning, picking flowers before school.
Do you notice that Clare is wearing the same dress Lila is in the first picture?
Yes, Clare is now old enough to wear the clothes that Lila wore the summer she was born. I'm just not sure how that happened quite so fast!!
Mama's babies are getting too big too fast!

Date Night with my Big Girl

Last night, Lila and I went out with our girlfriends (my friend, Emily, and Lila's friend, Leah). We big girls had a great time hanging out with our little ones. We went out to eat and then headed over to the high school for their spring production of "Beauty and the Beast." It was wonderful, and all of the students did a fantastic job. Lila sat through the entire play (which was 2 hours+) and it really kept  her attention. We missed Clare a lot, but we had fun on our special night out.
These sweet girls have become good friends, and I'm thankful for their friendship!
One of the best parts for Lila was getting to meet the characters after the play was over. She was totally in awe of Belle.
These ladies go to our church, and Lila and Leah were tickled to see girls they knew! Adriane, who is holding Lila, is our babysitter. They both did great!
The girls with Lumiere.
Lila and Mrs. Potts.
SUCH a fun night ... Alice in Wonderland is coming in the fall, and we've already planned our next night out!!

Garden in the Park

The girls and I headed to the park yesterday for a little festival. We had a good time walking around looking at the different vendors, eating some treats, and playing. It was a beautiful Saturday, and it was so nice to be outside enjoying it.
Our one splurge was glitter tattoos...Lila got a castle and Clare sported Minnie Mouse. Clare sat so still ... I was shocked, but she loved wearing it on her arm.
We took a spin on the choo-choo train...always a treat!
