Clare's 1st Haircut

My mom and I got to talking earlier this week about how Clare might be needing a haircut. I was hesitant ... I am so desperate to keep her a baby. It's silly, I know. Anyway, I made her an appointment with the girl who cuts my hair, and took her on in.
This was a before shot -- the very back had gotten long and a little scraggly. The goal was to even it up.
I thought that she'd be a little more difficult. She can have an aversion to different situations and people, so I expected her to be clingy and whiny. Nope. She crawled right up in that chair and was perfectly fine.
Terrible picture, I know. I kept her focused and still by having her point out my eyes, ears, nose, ..., teeth (obviously). Hey it worked.
My sweet girl's new hair do!!
That's one for the baby books, folks!!

An Update

Clare Anne is 21 months old (yesterday technically)! And booyyeee, is she a stinker! I told Josh the other day that it was a good thing that the Good Lord made her so cute because she gets into more stuff, and I won't lie, somedays I just wanna yell! But, she has the sweetest smile and the funniest disposition and the best hugs and kisses, and all of that totally makes up for her shenanigans.
A few things about Clare at this age:
-She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse ... it is handsdown her favorite show. She likes the other Disney Junior shows, but doesn't lloovvee them quite as much as good ol' Mickey.
-She talks and moves all.the.time. She says lots of words and can communicate really well. She mostly loves to repeat what Lila says, but she'll repeat usually the last word of what I say. She has got to be the busiest little thing around...I pull her out of and off of more stuff.
-She's hilarious. Her mannerisms are some of the cutest around. I wish I could adequately describe them, but I wouldn't do them justice. One of her funniest things is that if she toots or burps, and you say "Clare, did you..??", she'll totally blame it on someone else -- 100% of the time.
-She loves her sister and follows her around all the time. She repeats her actions and her words. I love to watch her try and mimic Lila's dance moves and flips.
-She's got a temper ... it doesn't come out toooo often, but she's got one. And she is bboossyy. She has absolutely no qualms about telling you where to go or when to stop talking.
-She's a mama's baby. Hands down. It can be exhausting, but I love it.
Lila-girl is just getting bigger by the day. She has blossomed into this little lady all of the sudden. This morning, she woke up she was all about mommy...which I loved. She wanted to go on a run with me this morning. She did really well..kept up and ran a good little distance for her 4-year-old legs. She was pretty proud of herself. I'm pretty proud of her for lots of reasons -- she's smart and considerate and loving and beautiful inside and out. Not to say that we don't have our issues ... her listening skills have totally been lacking lately and that has definitely been a sore spot.
These two girls are definitely my little loves. Everyday I look so forward to what they'll add to life.

This is what naptime in a big girl bed looks like. Here's hoping she gets the hang of this soon!!

My Pretty Girls

Snapshots of the girls before church this morning. Love them!!

Zoo Day, Fun Day

We finally took a day to head out to the zoo for a fun day. It had been awhile since we took a trip to the zoo ... the last time I was pregnant with Clare and Lila was super little. I was really looking forward to Clare's reactions to the animals. She loved them, but Lila loved it too. She loved seeing the zebras because they had just studied 'z' at school, and her one wish was to see the elephants. We had a great time wandering around, and I'm looking forward to the warmer weather so we can get out and do more family stuff together!
We had lunch at a Red Robin, and we topped it off with a delicious milkshake...it didn't disappoint!!
