1st Time at the Park
Happy Birthday Granny!
Slackin'
So, I've been called out on my lack of blogging here lately. With school starting back, we just haven't done all that much lately! Lila's been doing really well. She seems to be cutting a few of her top teeth right now, so she's been slightly off. If this is as bad as it gets though, then we'll take it. She's a champ...no joke!
She's started eating little Graduate snack foods -- I said yesterday that it made me a little sad to pack a bag to go out and stick in a sippy cup and a bag of snacks!! A sure sign my little one is getting bigger!
She's also started trying to stand on her own ... we tried to capture it on camera last night, but this was as good as it got. Her expression is timeless -- it's like she's caught by surprise everytime. She just looks at you wide-eyed.

When she's not trying to stand, she's usually crawling around like this ... she's getting pretty fast!

8 Months Old
1. She officially has her two bottom teeth, and the top left one broke through today.
2. She had her first little cold last month. That's all the sickness we've encountered -- how lucky are we!!
3. She has started on stage 2 foods, and we've started trying to learn how to use a sippy cup. We're currently trying to phase out one of her bottles.
4. She talks and smiles A LOT! She never meets a stranger.
5. She does have a little bit of "wants-her-way"ness about her. If you take something away that she wants to play with, she'll grunt and start to pout.
6. Bathtime has become a chore because...
7. she wants to be moving ALL the time. She is incredibly busy. We took her to church one night when we were in Madison visiting, and she didn't sit still for a second. She crawls everywhere, and she knows how to move if she's wearing a dress that gets in her way!
8. At Sissy's, she's learned to dance to a song, and she knows where the color red is.
9. She'll reach for you now if you hold your hands out. If you're in the floor playing and she wants some lovin', then she'll crawl to you and start climbing into your lap. She's also started clinging onto mommy at times.
10. She's also got a new pair of "tennis" shoes ... we wore them to school today and looked way too much like a big girl!
She is our little sweet pea for sure!! I'm sure 9 months will be here before we know it!

A War Eagle Kind of Day
Casey came to visit this weekend, and today we decided we'd load Lila up and go walk around College Street on Game Day. We had lots of fun piddling in shops and eating out. It was fun to be in the middle of it all again, and it was a perfectly breezy afternoon.
We went over to the AU sign and Samford Lawn for a photo session.
Posing with Aunt Casey
Playing in the grass ... she loved it!

Nighttime Play
Took some pictures tonight of Lila playing ... can you tell she's tired!? Sleep has been a little off around the Cook house this week. My little sleep-till-7 child has become my wake-up-at-4 child, which equals a tired mommy and daddy come normal people morning time. She, however, proceeds to have a great day at Sissy's...go figure.
Into ABSOLUTELY everything!! She doesn't sit still for a second!
My sweet, sweet girl!
We had her giggling in the pictures -- she's taken to making a really nice grunting noise, so in the last picture she's half laughing/half grunting and that equals that unique face!!
