It's hard to believe that our girl is 18 months old today. Time has surely flown! I have really enjoyed being at home with her this summer. I know that it is time with her that I will always treasure. I'll miss seeing all her little moments this next year ... the good and the bad. I'm afraid she'll be frequenting time-out quite a bit.
For my records, here are some of the things that are going on with Lila:
1. She can say a ton of words. Her list includes Mommy, Daddy, Pop and Mimi, Papa, Cakey (for Aunt Casey), (and we're working on Grammy), shoe, ball, hot, no, hey and bye, bow, baby, what's that (but it sounds like shat), apple (for most any fruit or veggie), cheese and dog. She recognizes and says Elmo. She says thank you appropriately (most of the time). She's really good at it if she picks up something she's not suppose to have ... she'll bring it to you and say thank you as she sets it in your hand. She folds her hands in prayer and then says amen at the end of our nightly prayers. She'll shh the dogs if they are barking. She loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and calls the show and her book hot-dig-dog. She calls her boo-boos beebees and will say it in the most pitiful voice as she points to the one she has on her knees and demands you kiss it. She can also count to two.
2. She can tell you what the following animals say: monkey (oo oo oo, ee ee ee), duck (kack), cow (moo), rooster (oodle, oodle, oo), tiger and lion (rooar), snake (sssss), and dog (oof). She can show you her eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, hair, hands, feet, fingers, toes, and bellybutton.
3. She ADORES her books. She will bring you book after book all day. She wants you to read them to her and she loves to read them herself. She has a lot of expression as she reads ... her voice rises and falls, etc. She knows her books too ... she calls her Mickey Mouse one hot-dig-dog, the book Fifteen Animals Bob because all the animals are named that, and another nighttime book shh because thats how every page starts.

4. She's starting to work with puzzles and crayons. She's just getting into coloring and holding her crayon well. We're still working on
where you color, but that will come in time. :)
5. She feeds herself really well using a spoon and fork.
6. She has all of her teeth (except the 2 year molars, and she may be cutting them?).
7. She listens and follows directions pretty well. This morning, she carried two different pairs of shoes to her room for me and put them in the right spot. She can show me where she's placed something. She knows where the trash can is and will throw something away for me.
8. She helps clean up her toys.
9. She loves shoes. She just adores when she gets a new pair, and she likes to get into my shoes too. She'll bring me one shoe at a time, have me put it on, bring me the other to put on, sit and look, take them off my feet and repeats. Today she tried to walk around in some of my shoes for the first time.
10.. She loves to be praised. It tickles her pink...she will squeal and clap and get so excited. She also likes to hear how pretty she looks and will show you how pretty she is.
11. She loves to give love and be friendly, but she's got a firey little temper too. We're working on that. Her hugs are some of the best around, and she'll kiss you square on the lips.
12. She's got a mass of curly and pretty blonde hair on her head.

She's an adorable child, and we love her more than words can say. She amazes us on a daily basis, and we look forward to all the new things that she will do and learn.
