Back to School .. First Day at Sissy's

Clare and Ivey's first day at Sissy's for this school year was yesterday. Clare was excited to see her friends and Sissy. She was pumped about the new toys, about having Ivey with her, and the other new little girl that's there this year. We had a big talk about how she was the big girl now, and she had to work really hard to have a good attitude and be a big help to Sissy. Praying hard that this little firecracker of mine has a great last year there. Ivey had a good day too .. whew. Third baby headed to Sissy's, and I was just as emotional dropping her off as I was the other two. Summer spoil me, and I really miss my babies once school starts back up. She was really tired when she got home, yesterday and today, but my prayer is that she adjusts quickly to being at Melinda's house.
Here are our back to school pictures.
Ivey Frances' first first day at Sissy's.
Hard to believe, but this is Clare Anne's last first day at Sissy's. She'll be a big kindergartner next year!! Say it ain't so!!

My Girls

End of Summer Camping Trip

We spent this last weekend camping at Wind Creek with Mimi and Pop. The girls had a blast fishing, swimming, biking, making s'mores, and playing with new friends. It was a good way to spend one of our last weekends of the summer. Can't believe that school is just around the corner!
Both girls caught a fish for the first time.
Busted out the 25 year old Donald Duck raft that my mother somehow has kept in one piece!
We had a beautiful view.
Goofing off with our new friend!

Ivey at 3 months old!

Ivey Frances was three months old on Saturday.
Where on earth did these three months go?
Here are some things about my girl at 3 months:
1. She eats every 3.5 to 4 hours. She still nursed most of her 3rd month. I started dropping feedings right before our beach trip, but I still nurse her at bedtime and pump once in the morning (as of today). Right now, she gets 4 bottles a day that are 4 ounces and mixed with breast milk and formula. She's been the easiest of the three to breastfeed, and I have been very reluctant and sad to let that go. We had a quick check for her eye today (blocked tear duct), so we ended up with a weight and length for month 3...11.9 pounds and 23 inches long!
2. She's a great sleeper and an okay napper. She goes to bed about 9 right now and sleeps till about 7:45 ... love it. It's wonderful! Her naps are more sporadic and not really scheduled. Poor third baby is so much more on the go because of her big sisters. She will sleep in her bed for a nap if I swaddle her. She still loves a swaddle, but I need to start moving away from that before rolling over comes into the picture!
3. She moved into her bed right after Clare's birthday. She slept great in her bassinet, but I think our movements kept her more restless. She definitely sleeps more soundly in her crib. She's pretty good to put herself to sleep at nighttime if I lay her down awake.
4. It is so easy to get a smile out of this little love. She grins with her whole body. She's pretty content most of the time, but she definitely has days that she is fussy and it can be hard to soothe her.
5. She's strong enough to sit in her Bumbo, and she can roll from her tummy to her back. She tires easily in the Bumbo, but she's getting stronger.
6. She's not the best car rider -- her and traffic lights don't get along. She's fine on the interstate or open road, but around town with the stop and go -- she can pitch quite a fit!

We certainly love this little nugget! She fits right in!

Our Summer

Our summer has been busy and it has gone by fast. I can hardly believe that it's almost time to head back to school. I think this year I'm mourning summer in a way that I never have -- I'm always sad to see it end -- I love the extra time that I'm with the girls, and I really enjoy our play dates and trips to the pool and lake and sleeping in, but this year I'm really dreading the stress and grind that a school year brings with it. We've got a few more days though, and hopefully we can make the most of it.
I pulled this pictures off of my phone -- they're from the last month or so of our summer.
Our 8th Wedding Anniversary -- a trip to the doctor for Ivey and a Mexican dinner celebration for us at 4:45.
