Sweet Picture .. Lazy Saturday morning :) Hanging out with Daddy!

We headed to the lake this weekend and had a really great time. Lila was such a sweet girl for putting up with the heat and humidity. She also took her first swim in the lake with daddy and went on her first boat ride. I was a bit hesitant but Lila seemed to really enjoy it ... except for the life jacket. She didn't really dig on that!!

Say a little prayer please ...

for my Aunt Glynda. Doctors have found 2 masses on her brain. She is scheduled to have a biopsy on Monday morning. Please pray for the Lord to give Aunt Glynda strength; also, pray for her children, grandchildren, and the rest of the family who love her so much.

The Cooks sure do love you Aunt Glynda!

Sigh ...

Much to her Daddy's delight (and her Granny's and her Mimi's, I'm sure), Lila appears to be a Braves fan. She's quite content to sit and watch a baseball game on T.V. ... just like her daddy.

... and again I say "Sigh."

Happy Memorial Day!

We spent Lila's first Memorial Day at the lake. It ended up being nice day amid all the rainy days we've had here lately. We hope that everyone enjoyed their holiday as much as we did!

I am quite excited because my summer vacation officially begins tomorrow!! Yay for the summer and getting to spend it with this little girl ... who by the way is finally starting to get the hang of cereal. I'm hoping that at least half the bowl made it to her tummy!

Yum Yum!

We had Lila's 4 month well-baby visit today and got the go ahead to try rice cereal. So try we did. She didn't quite know what to think of it. I thought she was going to really like it at first. She even gave us a laugh or two. But by the end of our little feeding session, she looked like she was gagging and she was definitely not enjoying it. We'll try again tomorrow ...

She weighs 13 pounds, 6 ounces and was 25 1/4 inches long. She got 3 shots and one oral vaccination. She screamed for a minute or two, but quickly calmed down. She did so well! Thanks to Grammy for being there for Mommy!

4 Months Old

Lila is 4 months old today! We go to the doctor Monday to check on weight and height and to get some shots I'm sure.

Some new things that happened this past month:

1. She talks ALL the time. She is constantly cooing and smiling.

2. She is laughing out loud.

3. She's rolling over.

4. She's decided that it's fun to wake mommy up at 4:45 so that I'll put the pacifier back in her mouth.

5. She's a good eater. We've been trying a new schedule and she's doing really well on it.

6. We really think she might be teething. She's very drooly and is always trying to or is chewing on something.

7. She gets sweeter by the day!

How Sweet It Is ...

... to be this angel's mother. I had a truly wonderful first Mother's Day. I didn't know life could be so sweet. Lila has turned our lives upside down in the last three and a half months, but I wouldn't trade a millisecond of it. She is a good baby ... goodnatured and laid back, and just plain beautiful. I am one blessed mama. I look forward to many more Mother's Days!

Whirlwind Weekend

This weekend went by in a hurry ... I felt like we spent the whole time in the car!! We woke up Saturday and went to Boaz. We spent the afternoon visiting with family that we just don't get to see very often. We all talked, laughed, and ate too much food! I was so happy to be able to spend time with everyone ... and hope to see y'all again soon!

(Yes...we're in a cemetary. Part of this weekend is Decoration Day where my grandparents are buried. It's at this beautiful little cemetary out in the country called Friendship. I'm related to QUITE a few people there ... it dates back to my 3rd great-grandfather I believe.)

Then we headed to Madison. We went to church this morning after our Mother's Day festivities.

And wrangled these three crazy dogs.

and Found

Thank goodness that Rudy is home again. I picked him up this afternoon. TRUST me when I say that this will NOT be happening again!!!

Lost

Rudy once again escaped from our yard sometime between 9 and 1 today. We have yet to find him, and we've been all over Opelika. If anyone that lives in this area, sees, hears of, or knows of a Westie that has been picked up then it might be our Rudyroo. Please say a prayer that we get him home soon ... it sure is a lonely night knowing he's not here.
