This sweet little thing is two months old today. I can't believe how quickly the weeks have gone by. She's grown so much this month and filled out so well. She's lost a lot of her newborn look, and is so bright-eyed.
A few things about this past month:
1. I traveled to Madison this past month for the first time with all three by myself...quite an adventure on the road, but everyone did well. We spent a whole week at my parents, and Ivey did great. The first day and a half we were there, she was really fussy and couldn't get happy, but that got better.
2. I'm not sure of her weight and length, but I know she's grown! I think she's going to be the smallest of the three at this time. Her 0-3 month clothing fit pretty well, but the pajamas are still big. I've still been squeezing her into newborn jammies, but she's just about too big for them!
3. We've introduced a lovey to her...two different ones actually that are made by the same company, so they have the same look and feel...Pinkie and Lambie as they have affectionately come to be known. I attach her paci to it, and she holds on to it pretty well. She doesn't sleep with it yet, but it stays in her swing, bouncer, or carseat with her most of the time. She wouldn't be a Cook girl without a lovey.
4. She is still nursing. She does take bottles, but if I'm around to nurse that's the way we go. She eats 5 times a day. If she takes a bottle, it's got about 4 ounces of milk in it. I've supplemented with formula a handful of times, but it's been mixed with breastmilk. I'll probably start weaning her in the next month before school starts back, but I'm hoping I can at least continue to nurse her at night before bed. She definitely knows when she's ready to eat. She's pretty much has set her own schedule, and cries like clockwork for nursing time.
5. She sleeps wonderfully at night. She's still in a bassinet by me in my room, but I think she'll move to her room in the next couple of days. She goes to bed around 10, and then sleeps anywhere between 5 and 6 before she's ready to eat again. She will wake up between 3 and 4 a lot of nights, but I can usually get her back to sleep. Some nights she ends up snuggled in the bed beside me ... she sleeps great then!
6. She's started smiling and cooing a lot this month. Her little noises are the sweetest sounds, and we always feel so accomplished when we get a smile out of her!
7. Her big sisters love her ... love, love, love her. I'm soo thankful!
This little girl is an angel baby! We love her to pieces.
