At the doc...

Lila weighed in at 23.3 pounds and was 30.5 inches long. She's right on track!! She got three shots ... of course, she bawled while she was getting them, but she calmed right down and has been going ever since!!

12 Months Old

Happy 1st Birthday Lila!!
Lila had a birthday today ... just in case you hadn't heard! ;-) Thanks to everyone who came and made her day even more special!! We had a big day and she had a blast!!
This month, Lila has ...
1. been completely put on whole milk and is drinking out of a sippy cup all day. She still gets that nighttime bottle ... I believe I'll have a hard time giving that up! She also is eating mostly table food.
2. really learned and likes to give love. She's all about a hug and a kiss for anyone and everything. It's very sweet!
3. learned to hang on Josh and me. She's also got just a hint of anxiety if there's something or someone that she's not sure of.
4. changed her style of dancing. Instead of just bouncing, she'll swing her body too.
5. play peek-a-boo on her own. She'll take a towel, book, whatever and hold it up in front of her face and then pull it back down.
6. continued to jibber-jabber all the time.
7. had her first Christmas, and was sick during all of the festivities.
8. learned to talk on the phone. She'll walk around holding it to her ear and just talk away.
9. also perfected the tantrum.
10. learned to say the word "no" and knows what it means.
11. a new trick ... turning the t.v. on and off...drives us crazy!
It's hard to believe a year ago, I had this little girl! Let me just take you back ... I've never written about it and I want to have the details down. Lila was born on a Friday night ... LATE Friday night. It was my last day of work before my maternity leave started. Lila wasn't due for another week and I was looking forward to some rest and relaxation before I journeyed into motherhood. It was not meant to be! I worked my last day, and I was so tired and SO SWOLLEN! On my way home from work around 4ish, I started having tightening contractions. I'd been having these awhile, so I thought it was false labor, and I continued to have these for the next little while. Got home, laid around, then Josh and I decided we wanted to go eat and headed to Shogun. Still having contractions mind you ... Sitting at Shogun, we ordered our food, our fellow came to cook it, he flared up the fire, and ... my water broke. Right there in Shogun at 6:00 in the evening. We got up, ran out and made it home. We were FRANTIC! We got home and got our stuff ready to go and were at the hospital by 7ish. Thankfully, my labor was so easy. They started my potosin drip around 8ish and at that time there was not much progression. My nurse's opinion was that I'd deliver around 10 the next morning. By 10:00 that night, I had progressed to 9 cm dilated and was getting my epidural. At 11:30, I was ready to start pushing and my sweet girl was born at 11:54 pm. It was SUCH a whirlwind night ... one that I will cherish forever!
