We're getting ready for football season around here -- We got these shoes for a baby present, and we were trying them on today hoping that they still fit!! She'll have to wear them to school soon--at the rate she's growing, it won't be long before she's out of them. She was fascinated ... she played with them for awhile!

7 Months Old

Lila is 7 months old today! Man, how time flies!

A few things about Lil' Lila from the past month:
1. She has gone from sitting up sorta well to sitting up really well. She has also learned to pull herself into the sitting position if she's on her tummy or if she's been crawling.

2. She can pull herself up onto anything she wants.

3. She crawls everywhere!

4. She never sits still ... ever.

5. She can take a few steps if daddy is there to hold her hands.

6. She's cut her first tooth and she's working on number two.

7. The teeth cutting is interfering with our wonderful sleeper a little bit. But she's still a champ at nighttime.

8. She's started daycare and she seems to really enjoy it. Thanks to Mrs. Melinda for making it an easy transition for us!

9. She has to be the most goodnatured child around. She is so go-with-the flow it's unbelievable. In the last two weeks, she's been put through the ringer, and she's come out on top everytime!

10. She's very loved!!!

Tooth!

Just wanted to post, for the sake of keeping up with Lila's firsts, that she finally has a tooth. It finally broke through last Wednesday, and I've been trying in vain to get a picture ever since. Hasn't happened yet... Josh promises that I'll get one when it finally is sticking out a little more, but I'm a little impatient...what can I say? ;-)

Family

We traveled to Boaz Friday evening because my dear Aunt Glynda passed away. She was diagnosed 11 weeks ago with a brain tumor that was determined to be Stage 4 cancer. She fought a fight, but is now at peace. I loved my aunt dearly, and will miss her very much.

Times like that make you extremely thankful for your family, and my first instinct was to surround myself with this part of mine. Needless to say I was very thankful to get to Boaz Friday evening, and be amongst this amazing crew. I have a BIG extended family, and I would say that a good many of us were together this weekend. I think we're missing maybe 15 or so??

What a blessing to be a part of such a great family.

As sad as the circumstances were, I was so thankful to hug all of your necks!

1st Day Back...

We survived our respective first days of school ... only a few tears were shed by mommy. ;-)

Last Week of Summer

I cannot believe that my summer comes to a close today. It has truly gone by SO fast! I have enjoyed every minute hanging out and playing with my little Lila. She's grown so much and has developed such a personality. She's so sweet ... laughs, giggles, and grins a lot. She's accomplished a few milestones ... she's learned to roll over well, sit up, crawl, and has started to pull up on things. She's underneath my chair right now doing her best to stand up straight. We made our first roadtrip alone this summer, and we took our first family vacation to the beach. Tomorrow I start another school year, and my sweet girl starts daycare. I thought I was doing well with the whole daycare thing, but I had a meltdown last night. Josh is going with me to drop her off in the morning to be supportive, but your thoughts would be appreciated!
