Update in Phone Pictures

So, I'm posting this for the 2nd time ... I'm not sure where my original post went. No worries though -- I took a couple of cute pictures tonight to add to it. :-) Things have been boring I suppose ... since all the birthday festivities, we just haven't done too much. Hence all the phone pictures, I guess? Here are the last few weeks, as told by my trusty iPhone. :-)

Clare Anne turned 19 months old last weekend, and she is just about the sweetest thing ... neck and neck with her sister. She started sleeping on a big girl cot at Sissy's after Christmas. I'm not ready for her to get so big!!

As mentioned before, my sweet Lila despises buttons. Grammy took this shirt and took the buttons off and then added ribbons. It's totally wearable now, and I'm thankful Lila's o.k. with it.

Clare Anne is desperate to be big like her big sister, but I'm desperate for her to stay my baby.

Lila's getting really good at riding her big girl bike.

Lila headed to a pirate party this past weekend ... it took a while for her to warm up, but she persevered and had a good time.

The girls are starting to enjoy some snuggle time together. Hopefully this turns into some sleeping soon. ;-)

in our summertime dresses...no matter that it's January.

Josh and I had some good one-on-one time with Clare Anne tonight while Lila was out for a bit. I asked her if she wanted to try pigtails -- she said "uh-huh" and before I knew she had some pony tail holders and was saying "onytail." She was pretty cute if I do say so myself!!

Lila has been loving her LeapPad...it's her favorite thing to do to wind down at night these days.

Promise to be better on the blogging front ... here's to a new month!! :-)

Lila's 4 Year Update

Here is an update of Lila at 4 years.

I'm not sure where to begin when it comes to how great this little gal is! I'm just going to number off some items...maybe I can organize my thoughts that way. :)

1. She is incredibly kind-hearted. She loves her friends and her family. She worries about them and their feelings. She gets excited to share things with them.

2. She's very motherly to Clare -- she helps her do a lot of things, and bless her bones, includes her in most all of her playing around the house. My favorite is when she calls her by her fulll name and when she calls her sweetheart.

3. She naps at school, but not at home anymore. A nap is very rare. We usually just try to have some quiet time to calm down some.

4. Activities she enjoys are coloring and drawing, writing, reading books, and she loves movies. She doesn't watch much T.V., but she'd watch a movie all day long.

5. She's learned a lot this year at Sissy's. She knows her letters (mostly) (upper and lower), and can write a lot of them too. Her journals amaze me. I love her ideas and thoughts, and I treasure having them on paper. She can read a lot of sight words, and they have also been working on math and science concepts.

6. She's a night owl. She's a great sleeper ... once she's asleep, but some nights it seems like it takes forever for her to fall asleep.

7. She hates buttons. I mean she has a true disgust for them. It drives me crazy. We have had a few little disagreements over them, and I have finally relented. I just say a prayer that she'll get over it soon.

8. She is into princesses right now and is very prissy. She wants her hair to be long...she's working hard to grow it out.

9. She is my little shopping buddy. I really enjoy grabbing lunch with her and piddling through stores and shops. She browses and tells me what's pretty, and it's just about the cutest thing.

10. She's my little love ... she cuddles, she still wants to be held, she hugs and kisses. She has an independence streak a mile long and a bit of a temper, but I am so incredibly proud of her. She's a great, great girl.

Lila's Birthday

Happy 4th Birthday to my sweet, sweet big girl!!

Lila has had a pretty big day today. We started out this morning with round one of the birthday song and a candle in a chocolate cupcake. Real nutritional for 7 a.m. ... I know, I know. She loved it though, and that's what matters. :) It was a rainy, dreary birthday, and this lucky gal got to spend the day at school in her pjs. She took cupcakes to school and got a special dip in the treasure box.

After Josh got home from school this afternoon, Lila got to open her presents. She's the proud new owner of a big girl bike (plus a princess puzzle).

With all the rain, we had to practice in the kitchen and the garage. She rode it really, really well!!

We met family at Chick fila for dinner tonight, and the girls had a blast hanging out with cousins.

I hope my sweet girl had a special day! It is just amazing to me that she is 4 years old!

Tonight is Lila's last night as a 3 year old! Can't hardly believe how big my baby is getting!!

Lila's 4th Birthday Party

We had Lila's 4th Birthday Party today. She wanted a Sleeping Beauty party. The invitation covered that criteria, but the rest of the party was just really princessy. :)

We did a painting party for our activity. All the girls painted little canvases with a little princess on them. They (and their mommies) did a great job!! They worked so hard, and their princesses were beautiful!!

Lila said the cake was her favorite part!!

She got such sweet gifts from sweet friends. We were so glad that everyone was there!
