Here is an update of Lila Wilson at 5:
1. She is super bright. She just passed an evaluation at school where she aced her letters, numbers, colors and shapes. She loves her books still. She is very curious and asks questions. She can segment her words and she can put together segmented words (like if I say "what is c-a-t {saying each sound}?," she can tell me that it says "cat." We need to work more on her reading, but I think she's doing just fine.
2. She wants to help all the time, and she is a big help a lot of the time. She's turned into a little cleaner, and begun to go around putting toys and things away. She helps with her laundry by putting it away, as well as the towels and washcloths in her bathroom.
3. She is very girly. She wants her hair as long as Rapunzel's. She has started to want to wear jewelry, and loves when I let her wear lip gloss. She loves all things princess.
4. She is still at Sissy's, but is enjoying her preschool too. She goes 3 days a week for 1/2 of a day. She loves to give me the low-down on her friends and what all happened. She is very excited for kindergarten in the fall ... me, not so much.
5. She is VERY competitive. She does not like to lose, and she does not like to try something and not immediately get it right. We are working on being a good sport.
6. She loves her sister, and they play so well together. Now, Clare is a little stinker and knows how to push Lila's buttons--problem is that Lila lets her.
7. She is very into gymnastics right now, but says that she wants to take ballet and tap in the fall. She also started tennis this past summer and enjoys playing that too.
8. I see so much of myself in her--she has a lot of my personality. She's my little buddy and cuddler.
9. She still has her little button quirk. She has the uncanny ability to detect anything that resembles a button on any article of clothing. Some buttons are there for decoration only, so I have convinced her that it's not a button if it doesn't have a hole to go through. It is working at the moment.
A whole hand old and SO proud of it!
