Miss Independent

Lila has gotten pretty opinionated about what she wears these days. I give her choices every morning, and I try to be as accomodating as possible (within reason). One area where she gets to choose whatever she wants is her pjs. Josh started this -- I'm sure I had a comment or two about the Christmas top with the pink doggie bottoms, but I've let it go. Casey came this weekend and took care of bath last night ... this is what Lila picked out. This morning she had one sock on and one off, and these light up tennis shoes on. She was stylin' for sure!

Lila's 2 Year Pictures

I love Jennie -- this is the third set of pictures she's taken for us, and all have been great! The day we took these pictures, Lila had just gotten over being sick, was woken up from a nap, and it was a bit cold--needless to say, she was not in a good mood. I thank the Lord that He gave me a sister that I can truly call my best friend. She's someone I can depend on, call on, laugh with (and at), and cry with. She's smart and dedicated, and she's such a good example for Lila and my girl on the way. Lila LOVES her Aunt Casey ... and that means more than anything that she's got an aunt she can count on!HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Raleigh Turns One!

Lila's cousin, Raleigh, turned one yesterday...

and we headed to his house for some bar-b-que and cupcakes.
Lila stayed busy ... eating cupcakes,

learning how to throw the football with Daddy

and her cousins (who were pretty sweet to help her out and let her play),

and learning how to kick a soccer ball. She was definitely into the sports last night!!

It's safe to say that Lila had a blast...she kept that grin on her face and pitched a fit when it was time to go!

This girl is all about the age of 2...but even through the tantrums, and the no's, and the bouts with time-out and the sad spoon ... I truly l.o.v.e. this girl more and more every. single. day.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

and yay for nice, spring-like weather! We went straight outside after school today to swing, ride in the wagon, and break-out those Christmas riding toys.
We also broke out Lila's little valentine's present...

Whirlwind Weekend

Whew! What a whirlwind weekend for Lilabug and me! The two of us traveled to Madison this weekend and had a great time :) It was lots of driving, and I'm totally worn out today, but it was worth it! I didn't pull my camera out until Sunday about 20 minutes before we left, but we did a lot that I didn't capture.
We headed to Tennessee bright and early Saturday for a baby shower for my cousin, PB. She'll be welcoming baby Chaney in March, and I'm so excited that Clare will have a cousin so close in age to run around with when we do all get together. I took pictures on her camera but none on mine!

We also had to do some extra loving and taking care of Grammy. She slipped and fell on some ice Thursday morning and broke her right wrist. She was a champ ... didn't let it slow her down much. :)

We got some playing time in with Papa,

and loved on Aunt Casey (whose name she now says correctly :). We also celebrated her birthday, which is on the 21st.

Lila also loved on the doggies -- I think she loves seeing them as much as anything. She talks about them all the time. Only Toby and Tucker would cooperate for a picture -- Rudy was having no party of it!!

We had a great weekend and are looking forward to our next visit!!

Ta-Da!!!

Guess who went potty!?!? Lila, that's who! The first time on it, I might add!

Now, I'm not naive ... she probably won't use it again for months, but you have to start somewhere right?! We're not even really in potty-training mode, but she talks about it alot and has shown a lot of interest in a potty and what it's for. Granny got her one for her 2nd birthday, and it made it's appearance in our house tonight. She said she wanted to try and low and behold...she actually went! We were excited, and she was so proud. We'll definitely be encouraging it!

Sick Little Lady

So, I took Lila to the doctor last Thursday for her well-baby 2 year check up. She weighed 27 lbs and was 35 1/4 inches tall. Well-baby my foot...She walked out with RSV and 100.9 temperature. I called my mama, who BLESS HER drove down Thursday night to keep Lila so we could still try and work -- trying to save maternity leave days is hard to do... All weekend, Lila had terrible fever and felt terrible. Saturday and Sunday night her fever spiked to around 103.7...pretty scary. It was miserable. We took her back to the doctor on Monday, and this time she had an ear infection which was keeping the fever around....might I add that this was her first ear infection of her little life. Praise the Lord for making it 2 years without one of those!! We got some medicine, and we're finally on the mend. A big thanks to Grammy (who I wish could just stick around) ... she made this week soooo much easier for us!!
