Into Everything!

It's official ... my child is on the move. She's not exactly crawling but she is scooting to get where she wants to be. In the computer room, she wants to mess with the wheels on the computer chair. If we're hanging out watching tv in the bed, she wants to scoot to the bed posts. She'll scoot from her play mat in the living room to the kitchen if I'm piddling in there. Whew -- she's getting to be handful!!

She's also learned to stand in her crib when she's woken up from her nap. We found this after her morning nap today. Guess we'll be figuring out how to lower that thing a notch... It amazes me she's old enough to be doing this!

The end of summer is nearing...

We headed to Madison for one more long weekend before school starts ... yea, I go back to school next Monday! Where did the time go?! We had SUCH a busy weekend -- I'm not sure we sat down for more than a few minutes all weekend. We started Friday off with a luncheon that Casey hosted for her work crew at her new house. It went really well and her new house looks so good! We had fun putting faces to the names that we'd heard so much about.

Saturday most of my cousins (we missed you PB and Kevin!) and my aunts and uncles came down and we celebrated some birthdays. We enjoyed seeing everyone...it's been 5 months since most of them had seen Lila. To say that she'd changed is an understatement!

I had to go to a workshop this morning for school, so Lila went to spend the morning with the lady who will be keeping her when I go back to work. We managed, and I didn't have a nervous break down. We'll see how next week goes -- say a quick prayer please. I'm having mixed emotions about it, but I'm trying to have a good attitude. I HAVE to work right now, and I really believe we've found the best situation and place for her. It's just really hard to leave your baby with someone else! I want to be there taking care of her...sigh. I'll be okay -- Lila's fine -- she grinned and went right to Melinda. This is Lila's "first day of daycare" picture.

Beach Trip ... Lots of Pictures!

Whew! What a big time we had at the beach this past weekend!! We headed down to the Fish Camp on Thursday and spent the rest of the weekend hanging out with James and Ashley. Lila really enjoyed all of the water time she got and was a good sport at the beach. I believe we've got a water baby on our hands!!

6 Months Old

Lila is 6 months old today!

A few things about Lila ...

* She is sitting up pretty well, and is even trying to pull herself into that position.

* She gets up on her hands and knees and is scooting. She also gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth.

* She's a giggling and talking maniac. Smiles all the time.

* Doesn't dig on peas, carrots, or peaches too much, but eats everything else!
* Snuggles with her bunny when she's going to sleep.

* Almost always immediately rolls over onto her tummy to sleep and then squirms all over the bed during the night. She doesn't wake herself up rolling over, but she will wake up when she's wormed herself into the farthest corner of her bed and is stuck.

* Really likes to be read to...Dr. Suess is a favorite right now.

* Out of all her stand up toys -- she likes the walker the best.

* Will stand on your lap and then jump, jump, jump.
*Has started to reach for you if you hold your hands out...especially if she wants to be taken out of something (i.e., exersaucer, walker, etc.)

* Is the absolute love of our lives!!

The car is jam-packed and loaded down -- We're headed to the beach!!

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the Fourth at the lake and a great time! Lila was a champ and enjoyed being loved on and played with by many of her cousins, aunts, and uncles. Hope everyone had a happy and safe Fourth!
